Islam and their Muslim faith started to spread as regions started to fall, with only their own religions to keep them going. Islam started to spread when their religion was still intact and waned to spread it to other regions to get them to convert and believe in the power of one God. They sent merchants to other regions beyond their peninsula, and went through trades with different cultures. But the Islam tried to bring peace while converting religions, just some societies did not like the idea of giving up their own religion and beliefs to follow anothers opinions of faith. Trade in the Islamic World started to grow because of the expanding territory and advancements in technology like the creation of dhows which helped the peninsula societies reach to other places rather than using the silk road for all trading, only going one way. And it started to grow even more because they were developing luxury items to use for trade and in their society. For example aromatic wood and spices(cloves,nutmeg and mace).
The societies in Southeast Asia such as Java and Sufi's started to become influenced from Islams different teachings that brought them new believers of faith. Islam started to spread it helped societies become urban by making all their religions become combined, that would last for centuries.Hinduism, Buddhism and Animism it became linked together rather than being separated from another by Islam trying to combine them and get the regions to convert.Islam when expanding over Southeast Asia was trying to win over their favors so they would not deny Islam or "God". After the fall of the Shrivijaya empire, Muslims controlled their ports and used merchants to convert and preach to the people their ideals of faith. Malacca became the powerful trading cities to replace the fallen empire, also created Demak for it to be the center of trade. Architecture with the Islamic world was mostly just mosques and schools to help citizens learn about their own faith.
But the societies started to become synergistic by that Islam combined Hindu with Buddha along with rituals from animists. But even though they go people to convert their were people called Christians who belong to Christianity started to become rivals with Muslims over spread of faith.
